Paris auto show: Chevrolet WTCC concept

GM just unveiled its WTCC concept car with a standard press conference hosted by its top designers. You would think months of involvement with the car would put them in a unique position to talk about it details and development, but they mostly just read the company line off cue cards. Lucky for them, the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) doesn't really need much explanation. It was conceived as a muscle car for Europe, and it has all the requisite design cues you would expect -- wide stance, big fenders, huge rear wing. Instead of a big block under the hood it gets a 190hp four-cylinder diesel. Hardly the stuff of muscle car legend, but maybe the idea is to outgun the competition with really great gas mileage.

K this looks like a car from some cheap cartoon, I've always liked the European hatches but this thing just looks hideous.

Side view is decent. But sweet jebus that front is hideous. As Juicy sad, looks like a cheap cartoon. Terrible

If GM thinks this is what europeans want then they are sadly mistaken. I agree with the previous poster the side view is decent but the rest of the car does not flow together epecially that hideous front end and from that interior shot that is posted as well the interior is not looking that fantastic even for a concept car. Vompare this interior with well say the camaro or enclave concepts and you will see this interior falls far short of that good quality. Maybe if GM redid the front and changed the rear of the car slightly and fixed the interior it might make it better

Interesting yet little too cartoonish effort, with some tweeking could be passable...

This is awesome!
This has to be the coolest thing Chevy has debuted in a long time, and I wouldn't change a thing for production, aside form the engine choices. Yeah, it's outlandish but it's much more interesting then the frumpy cars they produce now, and this is what is needed to combat the imports. If they would bring this to the states with a 2.0 or 2.5 liter turbocharged engine, AWD, 6 speed manual, and 310hp they might turn some heads. I would look at it, and I am generally dislike anything domestic.

This car should be sold in Canada using diesel and will surely have a guaranteed succes. A small beautiful beast!
