Paris auto show: Maybach 57S

The "pointless exercise in paint" award goes to the Maybach 57S. Typically available in black or silver only, this 57S was requested in a special shade of Antiqua White by a particular customer. Applied in two different layers, the unique shade has a pearl effect which gives the car various shades of color depending on the light. Placed in a glass case like a piece of fine jewelry, it was hard to see what it looked like up close, but from far away it just like any other Maybach, which is tso say not that great.

excuse me did i strike a nerve this particluar car is a waste of space at the show no new exterior no radiacally upgraded interior and obviously nothing else is new except the "special " paint that made it look diffrent shades I agree with edmunds not that good looking of a car and a pointless excersise in paint

Rebodied S class that wants to be RR or something. Pointless, distasteful and pathetic excuse for automotive design...

Maybach needs to rent a designer. The interiors are uber-opulent and fit nicely in this price stratosphere, but unless they find a design that allows potential very-wealthy clients to properly display their wealth then the Rollers and Bentleys of the world will leave this pig in the dust. Oh, and now MB is actually revamping it's "mortal" lineup with design cues from the Maybach. Scary if you're a Benz fan....

This car looks like money, and wants everyone to know it.
