FV Report: More pics of the 2008 Audi A5 coupe

As the debut date for the 2008 Audi A5 coupe edges closer, the prototypes are getting more revealing. These latest spy photos are the first to show the new coupe's window lines without heavy camouflage. Not surprisingly, it looks pretty slick. And with a 4.2-liter V8 under the hood it should be plenty fast too.

Could be cool. Is it just me, or does it have a Passat rear end? I guess this is the first car on the MLP platform.......I hope.

Nice shape....already looks better than the aging Mercedes CLK.

It looks like the S5 will be very competitive to the someday-Skyline. The front end is very un-Audi-like. I'm not sure it's an improvement, but it is different.

Meh. I like the roofline but that rear overhang is ridiculously long.

They need to pull those wheels to the corners.

Just about all Audi front ends overhang the front wheels because they are FWD based cars but Audi has its ways of viusally making their cars proportioned. BUT, Im not sure if I like the overall proportions of this, it seems a little off. From the front fenders up it looks like its from a differerent/larger car and high beltline makes the car look as its an Audi Allroad.

I can imagine Audi would panel the lower body in oddly proportioned ways as to distract onlookers like us, they've been good about that in the past. The roofline, overhang etc. however, that's here to stay; it's much more difficult to hide the pillars and roof.
I wonder though if the rear overhang is permanent... It seems over-excessive yet at the same time so like Audi. And that body is LONG! Isn't that a Toureg/Q7 its sitting next to?
