Spy photos: 2009 Hummer H3T spotted again

These are the latest spy photos of the 2009 Hummer H3T, a crew cab pickup version of the midsize H3 SUV. We saw early prototypes on the GM proving grounds late last year and this test mule appears relatively unchanged. We expect to see an official introduction of this vehicle early next year with sales beginning in the spring of 2008.

Hard for sales to start in spring of 2008 when production does not begin until Q3, 2008.

It certainly looks very long.

Let's hope the production model doesn't have wheel gap like that. ;)

Seems longer. May actually have a useful sized bed.

Anyone taking bets? I'll say 8/14 mpg.

Do you think Hummer buyers care what the gas mileage is?

Considering the current H3 gets 15/19 (14/18 under the new ratings) I don't think 8/14 is a close estimate. I'd venture that the ratings will stay the same or decrease by perhaps one each. And, like holland said, what do Hummer buyers care about economy?

Well if the H3 grows to a full size chassis and still only offers a 6, then I'd say those numbers will be right on target. ;-)

But yeah, Hummer owners don't care.

look closely at the tailight through the camo mesh. I'll bet that is a Colorado short bed tacked on just for testing purposes. The fender line doesn't match the front either. This is just a test mule so it's half expected, but I'll bet the wheel gap at the rear is better on the production model.

What's with Hummer getting all the Avalanche spinoffs now? The H3 should've remained an SUV while they built an actual compact / midsize Chevrolet stablemate for the Avalanche. This appears to be much like the H2 SUT, rather than a truck with separate bed.

BTW, the H3's getting the 5.3L V8 as its optional powertrain. I really don't see the numbers being lower than the current 5 cylinder H3 SUV with that engine in this package. It certainly won't weigh as much as my 07 Avalanche 4x4 (5700 lbs), and my Av is rated nearly the same as the current H3. If anything, with the increase in power the new engine won't work as hard as the i5, and will probably improve a bit, at the very least on the highway number.

Great. Another model for people suffering from military penis envy.

That's right. It is an I5, isn't it. We'll, maybe it'll do better with a V8.

hopefully the absurdly long wheel gap will not be on the production model but what Hummer really needs especially on its H2 model Is a DIESEL engine!!!!!!!!!!!. If it had a Diesel it would be a good competitor against the Jeep grand Cherokee diesel

oh great, another rediculous gas guzzling hummer...
