Rinspeed's sQuba: a submersible car with zero emissions

Those heading to the Geneva Auto show this March will be able to check out the Rinspeed sQuba, which is at home under water as above.

The submersible car is powered by an electric motor with powerful torque drives the rear wheels. Propulsion on the water is handled by two propellers in the stern and two powerful jet drives in the bow propel the vehicle under water while diving as as deep as 33 feet. With zero emissions, zero pollution in the seven seas of this world. The light weight body with components made of futuristic Carbon Nano Tubes encloses in a streamlined manner the driver and passenger who are supplied with fresh breathing air by the self-contained on-board system.

Wow, neat idea. Although unlike a real submarine, there does not appear to be any backups in case of a malfunction. I dont see an emergency surface option in case of a problem or sonar if your in murky water. If you have ever scuba dived you know visibility can be a problem sometimes. Most people would use this car in local lakes i would think. Kind of scary to take it into the ocean. Mainly because of strong currents and riptides. I would hate to surface under a speedboat thats passing overhead that i didnt see before getting to the top. LOL.
