2008 Detroit Auto Show: Ford Explorer America Concept

This was the Ford press conference for the Explorer America concept. Well, actually this was the simulcast of the Ford press conference since Cobo arena was apparently full. In addition to the thousands of journalists, we heard there was also a large group of people who seemed to genuinely like Fords, as they clapped and cheered with every introduction.
Turns out, we didn't miss much...
New Ford marketing chief Jim Farley spent all of about one minute extolling the virtues of Ford's midsize SUV of the future. Then he moved on quickly to the Verve concept, a new compact sedan.
Yes, it's all about small these days. Some would even say small is big, but that is clearly not punny.
