2008 Detroit Auto Show: Now that the dust has settled...

The hoopla is now past, and we can now digest all the "new and wonderful" stuff automakers threw at us last week. Is it all as great as they, the automakers, would lead you to believe? Well, AutoObserver has done much of the work here for you with their reflections of the show.

Actually, there are two editorials from AO on this—and they don't agree on everything.

Detroit Auto Show Hangover: Impressions from Press Days

Detroit Auto Show: The Best, The Worst of Show

So, do you agree with AO, or do you have a different take on the winners and losers of the show?

USA
What about Montreal?
Anything new introduced in Canada?
Elantra Touring is at least ONE new vehicle.
How about it, Ay?

Most of it was very worthwhile and informative. Thank you!

It would have been nice to have heard about Subaru.

However, the continued overemhpasis of Audi is getting tiresome.
AudiUSA has a crummy dealer network and very little customer support for these products, so what's the point?
Then again, perhaps Audi will see the light, kill off their cheaper models and become the German Ferrari or Bugatti they really wish to be.

I hadn't heard the Furai was supposed to "bridge the gap between race and production vehicles." Does this mean the next RX-8 (or -7 please) will be equipped with a 20B?

It's unfortunate Jason Vines left Chrysler in their hour of need. They're going to have to work a lot harder for it.

The Honda CR-Z was on display!? I didn't hear about that.
