BMW Engines Win Five Awards, Including Best Overall


BMW’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline six cylinder engine was named winner of the International Engine of the Year award by a global panel of judges. The BMW 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine, which also won ‘Best engine in the 2.5-liter to 3.0-liter’ class, powers the 1 Series, 3 Series and X6 in the 135i, 335i and X6 xDrive35i models.

BMW and MINI dominated the 2008 engine awards with five category wins. The 1.6-liter engine, under the hood of the MINI Hatchback and Clubman, won ‘Best engine in the 1.4-liter to 1.8-liter’ segment...

The 4.0-liter V8 in the M3 took its class and the 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine in the 123d, was best newcomer.

The BMW 1 Series, M3, X6 and MINI Clubman all trade on the Car Stock Exchange.
