eRUF Model A Electric Sports Car Concept Generates Emotions But Not Emissions

E-RUF-850x500.jpgGermany's RUF Automobile GmbH , manufacturer of high-performance automobiles typically built on Porsche chassis, announced today that it has produced its first electrically powered sports car.

The plug-in eRUF Model A concept car features a 150 kilowatt AC motor capable of producing 650 foot-pounds of torque from zero revolutions per minute onwards and a max power output around 204 horsepower.

Unfortunately, the zero-to-60 acceleration time of 7 seconds is nothing to write home about.

The motor draws electricity from a 96-cell lithium-ion battery system capable of providing a driving range of 155-198 miles between 10-hour charges.

There's no word yet on when eRUFs will be available or what they might cost.
