Cars for Christmas?

Okay kids, it's Christmas week and...

Wait, just to clarify -- I am using "Christmas" in this blog. If you celebrate some other holiday that involves gift giving my question still has merit for you. If you don't celebrate any holiday or any form of gift giving...well, sorry.

Anyway, it's Christmas week and Santa has come down your chimney to ask you what you want under the tree.

Actually, he's asking what you want in the garage (or car port, or permit parking out at the curb, or whatever). The only restriction is you have to start driving it immediately and use it as your primary driver for the next two years. For 2006 Santa is feeling generous, but not wasteful, so he's not handing out any pure "toy" cars. It can still be any year, make and model you choose. I suppose if you can handle driving a 1962 Ferrari GTO everyday, and putting thousands of miles on it, then you can have a pure toy car from Santa in this hypothetical question.

Because my daily commute is 100 miles I need something that is both comfortable and suitable for racking up 40,000 miles in the next two years (there go my GTO dreams...). That leaves the Continental GT. I can fit my whole family in it. I can set the suspension on "soft" and have a very comfortable ride, or I can set it on "sport" and have a surprisingly capable performance car for those Mulholland detours. Plus it's got the best interior I've ever seen. Yeah, the resale value is going to take a hit after 40,000 miles, but I'm just tough enough to make certain sacrifices.

Who cares about resale - Santa is giving it to you;)

I'll have to think about my answer overnight.

Requirements are -

4 doors (for practical purposes)
manual (for my enjoyment)
fun to drive

Saint Nicholas was the patron saint of charity, so yes he is real for those that don't believe in Santa (he lived in the 300 AD century).

Any how, since I'm broke, I'll take all the charity I can get.

Given I can keep all my current cars, including my toy (Miata), my winter car (Forester), and my wife's all-around car (Legacy), I would be adding a 4th vehicle to the fleet, so it would be ... a minivan for trips.

Gimme an AWD Sienna Limited, loaded to the gills, every option on the list. I've been a good boy, Santa. I mean, Saint Nicholas. :-)

Alfa Romeo 147gta (the hatchback with 250hp that it can't handle)

Or should I ask for a Nissan S15 Silvia? It's probably a better car, but... nah, I'm sure lots of other kids will be asking for one.

Ditto on the Bentley Continental GT. I am unwavering in my devotion to it.

Audi S4 (new) or CTS-V (as long as the rear axle won't fall apart).

Or a mint condition GN GNX. For this I will settle for a two door.

Audi A3 3.2L Quattro, from an Audi dealer that really cares about their customers and will support them to the hilt. And Santa, please give Audi a little humility and a quality electrical supplier!

Santa, everything is possible for u. Can I get the next gen Evo ? I am in love.

Agreed! The next Evo looks positively marvelous!

H1 to smash everyone else's pretty cars.

a brand new Audi RS4 is jus for me.....

Santa knows I still like my toys. Having said that, I want a Ford 427 AC Cobra!

...it's kind of practical...
:-)
