Cool Ford Concepts...Now Make Them!

I really like the Ford Interceptor, but I'm hesitant to get too excited about it. I liked the 427 concept from years ago, too, but I've yet to see a worthy production variant of it (no, the front-drive, six-cylinder Fusion doesn't count). Ford keeps saying that product is key to its turnaround. Agreed - now let's see some PRODUCT that's as cool as this concept...
Speaking of product, the new Focus looks much better and has some cool improvements, including the Ford-Microsoft "Sync" technology that uses Bluetooth to read emails with text-to-voice technology. I'm also happy to see the new coupe version of the Focus (though I'd be happier to see a Mazda 3-based car...).

Lincoln's MKR is another very cool teaser that looks like a Bentley - if not better (Peter Horbury's British accent as he described the car only added to this impression). The flowing body lines and superb proportions are extremely well executed. Bottom line - this is the type of vehicle Lincoln needs to regain its stature as a luxury brand. Please build it ASAP.

I think the MKR is in the pipeline. It looks like it can be turned into a production vehicle fairly easily. I somehow doubt the interceptor will be built, but I think it will be the basis for a new Crown Vic. Ford says that the entire lineup will be new or significantly refreshed by 2010. Gotta say it looks much better than a Crown Vic.

Yeah Ford should make these concepts but with the way there finacially in the red they might not want to throw valuable money into making them. The focus however Is Ugly. i was excepting something better. Don't get me wrong the Sync system is very cool but a car with an anemic 130 horses is not for me I can even out power this thing in my 01 malibu. A Rule of thumb in the mid size segment is that the engines should be at least 170 horses even though there are a few good 150 to 155 horsepower engines that are exceptions to the rule. I would not feel confident driving the focus down the highway with quicker and more powerful cars. Back to the other Two GOOD looking concepts the interceptor and MKR Ford should really make these cars while we will probably never see all of the recycled materials in the interior of tyhe MKR it would be nice If ford either made the interceptor or the MKR because they really need it. the corwn vics and their twins are getting hit hard by deprecation and are looking dated the ford five hundred and Montego twins look nice but they can be better
