Fiat would have been in much better shape if they had bought Saturn instead of Chrysler.

Didn't Fiat get Chrysler for free, essentially? True that their product portfolio would fit with the Saturn brand better, but (presumably) they would have had to pay for Saturn.

New inventory at local Saturn dealer has only declined for the past 6 months; perhaps Saturn dealers knew or suspected the final outcome all along.
