and how does it package that SHO feeling... does it have any of the "spark" that the old one did? Or is the SHO nameplate just that?

More like a static electricity charge. Car is quick and doesn't handle poorly, but it doesn't hide its weight as well as, say, the latest M3 sedan. Think Chrysler 300 SRT-8...but bigger.
Yes, I said bigger.
