wow standards suddenly changed with the Equinox.
Equinox 26
TSX 25
CR-V 24
Rogue 24
Rav4 24
Outlander 24
Escape 23
CX-7 23
Vue 22
Forester 22
Grand Vitara 21
Journey 21
Tiguan 21
We could say "24" is above average.
Did Government Motors set double standards for the Equinox?

To me MPG and power are related. You want to be slow? Fine, but you better get damn good mileage. You want to get bad mileage? Okay, as long as you're really fast I'll let MPG slide somewhat.
The CR-V is way too slow to get 24 mpg. Don't forget a V6 RAV4 gets 22 MPG, and that thing will utterly destroy the rest of this list in a straight line. For me I'd HAPPILY give up 2 MPG from the CR-V to get the RAV's rocket-ship acceleration.

That Equinox rating doesn't seem believable to me...

I'd like to see a test to prove it. So far I see no reason to believe it.
How about a big crossover test to separate the truth from the BS.
