2008 Buick Enclave: Quiet Room

We have a "quiet room" here at the office. I've never actually used it, but I've checked it out. It is indeed pretty quiet, and there are a couple of plush-looking couches for those moments when you just want chill out and enjoy some personal time without being disturbed.

The Buick Enclave feels like a quiet room on wheels. Road and wind noise? Not even. Close those bank-vault doors, and the world outside may as well be a universe away. Beefy, welcoming seats are another plus. This weekend, they enveloped me like an overstuffed couch would; gotta love having that much comfort and support. And we've blogged ad nauseam about the Enclave's forgiving ride. Almost every road is a smooth one when you're behind this Buick's wheel.

I occasionally get people asking me for recommendations regarding vehicles that are tranquil and composed. The Lexus brand has long been a safe choice in that respect. Time to add the Enclave to that list.

I would say thats subjective as it depends on what kind of CUV youre looking for. Also, the Enclave isnt a direct competitor to the Highlander or Pilot. You would have to go to Lexus (RX350) and Acura (MDX) to find competitors. Each offering has its merits and faults.

I agree on the smaller version of the Enclave.
I love everything about the vehicle except its size, it is just more than I need/want.
I wish they could even translate the plusses of the Enclave to a car.

I think that's exactly what GM needs-- I have a Trailblazer SS, and looking at how the TB and Envoy are soon to the chopping block and the Equinox, Vue, and (soon to be departed) Torrent too small to fill their shoes, I hope there are SWB Lambdas to come in to replace them. Even if they aren't quite as capable or *gulp* RWD as the TB and Envoy.

Your post got me to thinking? I wonder how a much smaller Encalve would do?? Y'know, like a Buick version of the Lexus RX330 or the Acura RDX? Something that isn't a three row leviathan but has the same sense of style and same good mechanical design and quiet tuning?

Stellar as always, with one of the best GM products EVER. Before deciding to go "car" instead...I still secretly wish we had an Enclave, just for that ethereal atmosphere inside. The best ride in absolute silence, yet at the same time not floaty or a sloppy mess to drive like, for instance, a Lexus RX. Drive beautiful.

Can't wait for the new "Enclave'd" Lacrosse...
