Our spies woke up early this morning to catch the 2008 Nissan Armada as it made its way into Death Valley. With yesterday's temperature topping out at a sizzling 126 degrees, Nissan's engineers should get a pretty good idea how well the Armada's new nose affects cooling.
For 2007, Nissan already announced a power increase and optional flex fuel capability for the 5.6-liter V8 so we don't expect any big changes under the hood. We did, however, manage to get an interior shot which shows several upgrades to the cabin. The center stack is all-new with an integrated navigation screen and some switchgear borrowed from Infiniti. The climate and radio controls have swapped spots and the vents have been moved up a little. Twin analog dials now dominate the gauge cluster in place of the current model's setup which gives you a big central speedo with the rest of auxiliary gauges sprinkled on each side. It appears as though the quality of the materials have been bumped up a notch as well.
How about the door armrests? Any pixs of that? I don't like the location of the power window switches on the current model. I hope they've addressed that.
I really like this updated version especially the interior i've always hated the inteirior i've always found it to square and chunky even though i like the square and chunky exterior...I find this interior looks more luxurious and sophisticated...very nice.
It's too bad that Nissan wasn't able to get their interiors right from the get-go, but they deserve kudos for attacking their weak points head on with each vehicle update & redesign. This Armada continues the trend, from the looks of it
i have all way like the Nissan Armada inside and out and with the minor update exterior and all new interior make me like it even more and it need at lease 320 horse to compete with the 2007 Chevy Tahoe
I hope the Qx56 will get the same interior treat meant i like the Qx56 but it need a new interior and more wood grain and at lease 25 horse power or more horse to compete with the all new gl Class and new escalade
I think The interior looks far better than the 2006 model. The exterior only seems to have very minor changes in appearance. the only thing that bothers me is how the exaust pipe sticks out akwardly like it has been knocked out of place.
I am so dissapointed on the exterior of the Armada...I was hoping that Nissan will do something with the rear styling, that dent on the side as if the rear is attached is so ugly. I tried to buy the Armada twice, but just could not look past the styling of the dent. I just don't know what the person who designed the Armada was drinking...It seemed he designed a nice SUV and at the last minute, said to himself, I think it looks too nice, let me make it ugly and make a dent in the body, so it will look ugly and out of place. I just have to buy a Tahoe or Yukon, this thing is too UGLY!!! Very dissapointed, was waiting for nissan to fix that styling from the rear door to the back. This is Horrible!!!
Just did a quick look appears that the Armada has the highest towing capacity of any SUV for 07 at 9000lbs. I love my 04 and the improvements look great. So by 2009MY I'll be in one at my current 5 year turn over of tow vehicles. :)
I am curious as to whether plb4 who made the comment about the Armada's need for 20 more horses to compete with the '07 Tahoe has driven them both. I own both an '05 Armada LE and a '07 Tahoe LTZ and the Armada will smoke the Tahoe from a standing start or 'punching' it from any speed whether it's 20 mph or 80.
It also rides and handles better. I bought the Tahoe for my wife and she wants to swap with me but I say 'no way'.
Nissan is nothing if not consistent. The Armada will now have the same CHEAP interior the Maxima has including the display for the radio that closely resembles a computer monitor circa 1979. I rented an Armada this week and was so impressed I thought I would look at the 08 changes before buying. Now either I buy an 07 or I look elsewhere. Nissan keeps disappointing with cheap looking interiors. Ever look dollar for dollar the Maxima SL vs an ES 300? For roughly the same $$ Lexus is light years ahead as it relates to interior comfort. That s a shame because there is not a better looking car than the Maxima....
I will add that I have an '06 Navigator and the '07 SE Armada I rented this week was quiter, smoother, faster...and it was four wheel drive...I forgot to mention that it seemed much better on gas too. If only they would add some plastic wood like the new suburbans maybe I could get past the crappy looking cheap feeling center stack...

looks like a japanese gas hog to me
Interior looks better, but my kids still could not reach that ridiculously high exterior door handle.

I have never liked the Armada's interior. I think it looked ugly. But it looks like all that is going to change.
