Detroit Auto Show: China and Detroit, Take 2
Image: Robin Buckson / The Detroit NewsLast year at Detroit Chinese automaker Geely gingerly tiptoed into Cobo Hall, barely registering a blip on the Wow Meter. This year the Chinese are back with Changfeng Motors putting up a display of five models, two SUVs, two pickups and a concept car. Surely the Wow Meter was
wowed a bit more this time around...
Changfeng promises to enter the US market at some point, but no date has been announced yet...
Full story here.
I don't see any chance this is possible.
Especially when we already have enough struggling manufacturers/brands in the US.

nope im not impressed at all if they do make it here it wil crash and burn like yugo and renault did.; While what they are displaying is an imporvement from the chery car that no one paid attention to last year I'm still not impressed.
I dunno. With DCX's infrastructure, Chery could indeed make a big impact.
I'll bet they make a slow start and then quickly grow. Korean cars will be first easy target and then they'll go after the Japanese and American competition.
If they can sell the cars for what they actually cost (without the government tacking on giant trade restrictions), then they will be everywhere within 10 years.
I can't imagine buying one of those cars, especially after I watched this video on google.

Where are the pics of the 5 cars?
