Amidst BMW's heavily evironmentally oriented presentation, the 2008 BMW M3 snuck in. Yeah, you know all about this fourth generation of the M3 already. Here in Frankfurt, though, the M3 finally made its public debut.
It's practically old news. BMW brass Norbert Reithofer's opening remarks made a passing reference to the latest M3, but the car's existence is basically a foregone conclusion.
It's striking, though, and the white color of the M3 on display really shows off the carbon-fiber roof.
The M5's V10, which BMW conveniently made with a 90-degree vee angle, provided its fundamental architecture for the M3's 420-hp V8. It's a tidy package, too.
Bundle-of-snakes manifolds provide an equal-length exhaust path for each cylinder in order to maximize output. They're gorgeous, too. Shame they aren't visible when the engine is in the car.
Ooh, looky. A herky-jerky M3 Simulator. The perfect way to barf up your heavy German breakfast of breads and meat.

That exhaust manifold looks great and the attention to detail is superb. Corvette take note!
Gorgeous headers, but I still don't like the hood bulge.
