OK, all kidding aside, GM is conducting a test of fuel-cell vehicles by putting the Chevy Equinox FCEV (fuel-cell electric vehicle) into the hands of more than 100 private customers.
drove one and found it to be pretty normal... The only problem is refueling.

And good way to get hydrogen without wasting more energy then you create
And a way to bring all this technology down to a price worthy of the mediocre performance.
And a way to store the hydrogen without resorting to 10,000 psi pressures.
The reality is fuel cells will remain a footnote in energy history. All this really is is an electric car with the energy stored as hydrogen instead of electricity. The complexity and losses in the numerous energy conversions mean they will not be able to compete with battery powered electric cars. Battery technology will be mainstream long before fuel cells are making the cells redundant.
My prediction anyhow.
