Honda has a pair of new hybrids that will soon be hitting dealers. The first being an updated version of the existing Civic hybrid, and the second to be a true dedicated Prius-fighter.
From the image above, the Civic appears to be getting a mild facelift. As to whether there are any mechanical upgrades, that's not known at the moment.

The as of yet unnamed Prius-fighter (top image) is the one that's sure to get the most attention, as it was designed from day one to be a hybrid--and only a hybrid. It's expected in dealers around the end of 2010. It was also designed to do battle with the incredibly successful Toyota Pruis. Heck, it even looks a bit like a Prius in overall shape.

I guess if you can't beat them, copy them! That looks JUST like a Prius!
I wonder what the next gen Prius will look like as they will go toe-to-toe.
The only differentiating feature are the headlights. Beyond that, it looks exactly like a Prius. Looks like the Chinese aren't the only copycats out there.
Although the car in the picture has a similar profile as the Prius I wouldnt call it a copy cat. I think once the full styling is revealed the details will really seperate it from the Toyota.
This unique profile has very good aerodynamic properties and the Prius wasnt the first car to use it. Remember the Honda Insight and the Honda CRX? They both had the same basic profile and hatchback configuration.
I won't buy a new car until they sell a good Plug-in Hybrid. The market is more than ready and willing for them. What are they waiting for? We had Electric vehicles 10 years ago. Why not Plug-In Hybrids?
