The South Korean-designed Chevy Beat may be coming Stateside. Originally intended for Asia and Latin America, the soaring fuel prices that have sparked the rapidly changing Americans' vehicle tastes have GM rethinking their plans.
"Everything is under review," said GM spokesman Dee Allen. While the automaker's executives continually review their lineup, this examination might lead to bigger changes, he said. "Obviously, the market has been changing rather rapidly."
The Beat is smaller than the current Chevy Aveo, and is roughly the size of a Smart.

With the market the way it is now everyone could use more small cars. I say bring it.
I think GM should also invest in a Cobalt hybrid as to me it makes more since to have hybrid technology in a midsize/small car than a huge SUV as its just cheaper all around.
Remember the Beat was one of 3 cool concepts??
GROOVE, BEAT & TRAX.
The CHEVY GROOVE concept was the best, I thought. A true Scion Xb killer with the Malibu grille.
I always wondered why they didn't bring all 3 into production.
Really, Chevy should just start pumping out the BEAT and GROOVE asap. They are some of the best looking b-segment cars I've seen.
Since the Hornet is coming, and the 09 FIT... they better get it in gear!
It looks good for its size, and would help with CAFE numbers as well.
Aveo sells well, so give it a shot.
Yes, they should bring the Beat to the US. I am kind of surprised that GM hasn't offered more of the GM/Daewoo product under it's own bramd names the US.
