Andrea Pininfarina killed in motorscooter accident

Andrea-Pininfarina260.jpg

Andrea Pininfarina 51, CEO of automobile design house Pininfarina SpA, was killed while riding his Vespa. It is believed that Pininfarina's motorscooter was hit by a car while he was on his way to the company's R&D center in Cambiano.

His death comes a crucial time as Pininfarina SpA was in the middle of a restructuring, as this past year the company had a net loss of 114.9 million euros.

Pininfarina was the son of Sergio Pininfarina and grandson of the carrozzeria's founder Battista "Pinin" Farina. He is survived by a wife, two sons and a daughter.

photos are geotagged with exact location of crash...

the 78 year old driver of the ford was failing to yield while making a left turn onto the via torino from the his side street. anderas view was obstructed by a truck on the side of the road...

I believe you mean 114.9 million Euro.

I believe you'd have to be correct heffling. I can't imagine they'd have had to do to much restructuring to overcome a net loss of 114.9 Euros.

Anyway, sad to hear about this loss. I wonder what impact this will have on the company?

Very sad, RIP.
