An all-new 2010 Acura crossover is in the works, and our spy shooters in Death Valley spent the better part of the night getting the first spy shots. Slated to slot in above the MDX in the lineup, the new crossover is aiming to compete with the Infiniti FX and BMW X5. It will ride on the same all-wheel drive platform as the upcoming TL sedan, so expect to see similar hardware under the hood. With the launch of the TL still to come, don't expect to see this new crossover until late next year at the earliest.

The MDX is already a great performer so this more performance oriented Acura crossover should give the FX and X6 (not X5) a good run.
Ive heard that Acura will debut a number of new offerings and trim levels to existing offerings over the next 3 years with at least 2 products or trim levels every 5-6 months. Ive also heard pretty firm rumors of a coupe and convertible.
Im only worried about the styling of these products as Acuras of late have been ........odd.
Yes, quite odd. Oddly horrendous.
Those cloth windows look like they were drawn by a 5 year old! Look at its wiggly headlights!
Acura designers have become so depressed from the poor reception to its new styling direction, they've regressed to mere children's scribbles!
Look at that traumatized designer play with his toy phasor. Set to stun!
Introducing another SUV is probably not the best idea.
I agree with the X6 comment, especially from the low slung looks. But maybe this could be good for Acura. The MDX can stop trying so hard to straddle luxury performance CUV and topline Pilot model. Maybe it can grow a little bit and have a real third row, maybe compete with the Buick Enclave (wow, Acura wanting to compete with Buick). I think that could happen, because I'm guessing this CUV is smaller than the current MDX.
Oh, and those cloth covers are supposed to look like that to confuse spy photo shooters so they can't make out the true shape of the vehicle (And Honda has a reputation for being good at that).
How disappointing.
I thought this would be a small/sporty crossover based on the euro Accord wagon. TSX Sport, perhaps?
Instead it's a massive, heavy, and expensive SRX clone.
Acura sales are way down and this won't do a thing to help.
If this thing plans to take on the Fx50 and the X6 then its going to have to have a sh!t load more power than 300 horsepower, unless Acura is only planing on going up against the V6 versions of those suvs. I see no point in putting a V8 in this front wheel drive based crossover but they can turbocharge their 3.7L unit to make around 400 hp but then again Acura is very stingy when it comes to giving their cars horsepower.
