Nissan HD Powerline transmission

As you well know (or should know by now), Nissan will be entering the commercial truck market shortly. And as such, will be using an all-new ZF Powerline automatic transmission. It's a 6-speed unit, and will compete with the HD Allison transmissions used on many Class 3 to Class 7 trucks. Expect to see it sometime in 2010.

They'll have a big gap if they stop making full-size trucks and rely on Chrysler. Seems like this is not their niche...

I'm fine as long as the Nissan is a completely reskinned, insided and out, version of the Dodge.
Like a Grand Caravan versus a Routan.
Except please change the instrument gauges too.

Yeah, I don't really understand this either.

And how do you determine a life expectancy for a tranny? Are there assumptions concerning load? On what vehicle is this based on?
