Zoom-Zoom-Smile...
Interesting. It looks like Mazda has discovered the happy face (as opposed to Mitsubishi's angry face) as the new look for their cars. We saw it first on the facelifted Miata, and now again on the 2010 Mazda 3. The new car will debut at the LA auto show, and will be available with both 2.0L and 2.5L engines.

Finally a new 3. I'm very curious to see if Mazda can continue the apparent home run it hit with the Mazda3.
First thoughts on this design? I like the front, although its perhaps a little too 6-like. But something doesn't sit well with me about the back end..I think its to do with the over-designed tail-lights....
its ok. I have to see it in person 1st. Good news is the price drop awaiting those 04/05 models... Hopefully mazda puts in a better a.c. compressor! MANY complaints on that slip...
I also think the tail lights are overdone... I do like the dual exhausts though!

this little car looks GOOOOOD...
front and back...all over....wow,
I wouldnt change a THING.
LOVE the MX-5/RX-8 looking front end...
I currently Own an 07 Mazda 3 S 2.3, and While the A/c Isn't the best, its not that bad either.
As for this new model, Its.... interesting.. I don't mind the back end, it looks great with the dual exhaust, and the tail lights are decent, as long as their LED which they appear. I did like how earlier mazda 3's differentiated the base model and the S with different tail lights... They should do that again..
I can't wait to see the interior of this new car, should be great...
As for the front end... Its...nice but the fog light hole is two exaggerated... The grill looks interesting, but I still like the front end on mine better... I have to see more pics and see it in person, but it looks pretty decent thus far.. Hopefully the 2.5 will have 170 ish horsepower!
Looks good.
I wonder if the 5 door will continue with the big engine only. That would mean the smallest engine would be the 2.5l.
They should offer the 2.0l in a 5 door!
I think the front end looks fantastic. The rear, not so much. I'm not a fan of these taillights nor the ones on the new Mazda6. The five-door is what I'm really waiting on. I'm excited about the possibilities for a redesigned Mazda5, too.
Owning a 08 mazdaspeed 3, I also have found no problems with the AC compressor. Mabye later models got a revised compressor? Mind you I live in the desert, so I assure you if it can cool the car down here, it should do just fine. The only explanation I could find would be that the system struggles to cope with high humidity (since it's usually very dry here).
The car does look more upscale, though I'm not sold on those tail-lights.
Now let's hear about the 2010 MS3 :)
The rear-end looks much better than the current sedan, which looks awkward and cheap. The new butt w/ the low bumper looks like the car is factory-lowered.
This thing is beautiful. I hope it gets 35 mpg city.
Boy, what a revelation! Stole the front half from a Saturn Astra and the back half from a Pontiac G6. I'm sure the press will fawn all over it because it has an import badge on it. I am looking forward to all of the ricers out there having thier parents buy them this thing, just so I can meet them at the stoplight drags.
"The rear-end looks much better than the current sedan, which looks awkward and cheap."
What? The current sedan is thee best looking compact sedan on the market IMO. The ladies can't stay away from them.
Regarding the dual exhaust, that's just stupid and wasteful. There's no performance reason to have a dual exhaust, unless it's a 6 cylinder or bigger, with true duals, and a balance tube or X pipe. All it does is add weight and arguably makes it look cool. I would argue it makes the car look like a poser. It's pointless things like this that are making cars heavier and therefore slower and less efficient.
If Ferrari can use fake exhausts, then it isn't below what Mazda could stoop to.
6 cylinder doesn't even need a dual exhaust. It's posing too. You know what's under the car? One pipe.
Dual exhaust is posing on any model. And it looks damn good.
