Chevrolet's modern tribute to Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s Pro Touring-style '72 Camaro was also getting into position this afternoon at Chevrolet's 2008 SEMA Show booth. The Earnhardt, Jr. concept Camaro doesn't look as tasteless as you might think, with its dark-gray-on-white paint job, but suffice to say it's not as sleek and alluring as its forebear.
Just like on the RS Package Camaro, this one has 21-inch Pirelli P Zeros. That's 245/40 up front and 275/35 in the rear.
We still can't comment on the burnout properties of these tires, as the support staffer never gave it more than 1/10th throttle in the chaotic Las Vegas Convention Center.
Nor do we yet know how much horsepower and torque the Chevrolet Camaro Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Concept's 6.2-liter LS3 V8 makes when optimized to run on E85, as it is. Anyone care to speculate on whether Earnhardt, Jr. puts healthful, heartland corn-based ethanol into his '72 Camaro? Kidding.
We can say with certainty that, in finishing the cockpit of the Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Camaro concept, Chevrolet designers depleted our national reserves of burnt-orange thread. Our hearts go out to the seamstresses.

Looks like chrome surrounds for the exhaust system that's part of the rear fascia is beginning to be a trend.
I still think the reverse lights look like an after thought. And the bottom cut line of the door looks dorky with contrasting colors. I'm also nervous having the parking brake handle on the passenger side because they're tempted to grab it and engage the brake when I don't want it, or that the passenger will feel like I'm reaching out and grabbing them in an inappropriate way.
Other than that....can I have one?
I'm assuming those exhaust ports are fake. *sigh*
This one goes way too far.
I prefer the RS package, even then I'd pass on the fender decals.
