2009 Detroit Auto Show: 2010 Buick LaCrosse Running Footage

#DAS09 GM let loose with the goods on the 2010 Buick LaCrosse last night. It's easily one of the better looking Buick sedans to come along in awhile, but it does appear to have some awkward lines when viewed from certain angles.

For a better look at this new entry-level luxury sedan, check the attached video showing the LaCrosse as it takes a few leisurely laps around GM's proving grounds. Doesn't look too bad on the road.

Put the Genesis/Lexus LS/Mazda6/Avalon in a blender and out pops this. It's a sign of the times when GM starts taking styling cues from Hyundai. Not that it's a bad thing, but really...haven't we seen this car before?

I agree. This is a handsome car, but I would like more of a unique statement, as was done with the CTS or Chrysler 300.

I guess the link to the past Buicks cue isn't portholes this time around, but the curving crease down the side? At the very least it's interesting/different. I keep seeing something like a white below the line and teal above paint job etc.

"I agree. This is a handsome car, but I would like more of a unique statement, as was done with the CTS or Chrysler 300."

But that's not what buick's about. It's not about a huge styling statement, except for maybe the Enclave. GM made it not look radical so it wouldn't encroach on the CTS. Good looking car thoug, possibly better than the MKS. Can't wait for a comparo test between the two because they are obviously direct competitors. Also, There is so much 5 series/GS in that butt it's incredible. But hey-if you're going to copy, why not mimick the best?

The car looks great, but I don't think it's what Buick needs. It's already apparent that the visibility in this car will be awful - a major flaw for a brand with older buyers. It seems like GM went a little too far with form over function this time.

This is exactly what Buick needs. Smart styling, quality materials, real luxury. Not the rebadged faux luxury that Buick has been known for. They don't need to be groundbreaking. Although what is groundbreaking is that this is the most stunning, balanced, understated and elegant design I've ever seen out of Buick in, well, ever!
