Hyundai Offers Cheap Gas With Its New "Gas Lock" Program
Hyundai is adding a new perk to its Hyundai Assurance program: Gas for up to 12,000 miles at $1.49 per gallon for regular fuel, slightly higher for midgrade and premium. Called Hyundai Assurance Gas Lock, the program covers most models leased or purchased between July 1 and Aug. 31.
Under the program, consumers are eligible to purchase "a maximum number of gallons equal to 12,000 miles divided by the EPA combined fuel economy rating for the qualifying model." If you opt for the Gas Lock promotion it can affect the manufacturer rebate amount on certain models, but can be combined with the full value of all other promotions, including your Cash For Clunkers trade-in amount. Almost the entire Hyundai lineup is eligible for the Cash for Clunkers rebate amount, and will likely garner much interest when the program goes into effect on July 23.
To sign up for Hyundai Assurance Gas Lock, new Hyundai owners will register their credit or check card at hyundai.pricelock.com. When they use that card at any of the participating gas vendors (which cover 93% of the country), they will pay only the guaranteed price, regardless of what the normal price is at the pump.
