Dream Car Corner: Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

2009 Pebble Winner - 1937 Horch 853 Voll & Ruhrbeck Sport Cabriolet.jpg

Few classic and collector automotive events can challenge the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, which happens every August, for sheer car enthusiast overload (a good thing). First there is the concours itself, where a wealth of beauties are displayed on the lush green lawn. There is also the Concorso Italiano which showcases not only hundreds of gorgeous Italian cars but also food and fashion as only the Italians can do.

Although the sites may not yet have their 2009 photo galleries up yet, there's still plenty to see with the past galleries. And let's not forget the Monterey Historics, where you can watch vintage race cars ranging from Boss 302 Mustangs to late '50s Ferrari 250 GTs running on Laguna Seca racetrack.

There are other events that occur during this week-long festival, including numerous high-brow auctions and the Pebble Beach Tour, where classic cars take to the scenic highway along the coast.
