Deal of the Week: 2009 Lincoln MKX

This year has seen a plethora of new luxury CUV's enter the market, including the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz GLK, along with the redesigned Cadillac SRX and Lexus RX350. Lost among this roll-out is the Lincoln MKX. While some may just label the MKX as a Ford Edge rebadge, the MKX offers some important advantages. Read about them, and some available advantageous incentives, after the jump.
So what does an MKX give you over a similar Ford Edge? A longer bumper-to-bumper warranty: 4-years or 50K miles vs 3-years or 36K miles. The MKX also offers the Lincoln brand name, which for many is still considered a step up from the Ford brand. The MKX also offers a unique interior and exterior treatment that some buyers find both more upscale and preferable.
But how can the MKX compete against all the new faces in the luxury CUV market? Perhaps by offering some enticing incentives? Now through November 2nd, buyers can choose from 0% financing for up to 60 months (1.9% for 72 months) or $3000 customer cash. In addition, there is $1000-2000 in bonus cash (depending on region) for those who finance through Ford Credit. There is also $1500 in bonus cash that can be combined with the customer cash, but not the special finance rates. There is also $500 in cash available to college students, cops and soldiers. There may also be $500 in cash for anyone who's birthday is February 30th.
While the MKX may not be dynamically superior to any of the aforementioned competitors, it may have a price advantage. In addition, some buyers may just plain prefer the way it looks. Believe it or not, many vehicles do indeed sell (or don't sell) on looks alone.
You can take a look at all the current incentives here.

Honestly, is it really worth the money over the Edge, even with the better warranty?
Here is a real world answer, my wife loves the MKX and would never consider the Edge. I am sure she is not alone.
In fact, the MKX is at the top of her short list to replace her A4 in April. She has been in love with the Lexus RX since it came out, but the current redesign has left her cold. Most of the other competitors are out of our price range.
