Green Car Advisor: California's "Cool Cars" Proposal
It's no secret that using your vehicle's air-conditioning can have a negative impact on its fuel economy. To address this, the California Air Resources Board has drafted the "cool cars" law. This law would require that cars be equipped with a special window coating designed to keep the cabin cooler; a cooler cabin should lead to reduced air-conditioning usage.

But increased heater and seat heater use.


As long as it only apply to cars in places like California then I don't care. I certainly do not want it on my car. It's a wonderful thing on a sunny -20 deg day to hop in you car and discover that the sun has warmed it up to above freezing.
