Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec Debuts in Vegas
Aimed squarely at the tuner crowd, Hyundai has pulled the took the wraps off its new Genesis Coupe model: the 2.0T R-Spec. The R-Spec should appeal to drivers seeking additional performance by adding a track-tuned suspension, 19-inch wheels with summer tires, a Brembo braking system, a Torsen limited-slip differential and R-Spec badging. In an effort to reduce cost and weight, the R-Spec goes without Bluetooth, automatic headlights, cruise control, a trip computer, chrome interior accents and steering wheel audio controls. These additions and deletions result in a very reasonable $24,500 base price - just $1,750 more than the base Genesis Coupe.
Fittingly, Hyundai debuted the R-Spec at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas - the center of the universe for aftermarket parts, customizers and tuners. Check out Inside Line's SEMA coverage for the latest news from the show floor.
