Edmunds "Answers" Launches -- Try It!

Hey folks.

You've probably seen Edmunds' CarSpace -- where consumers can discuss any automotive-related topic from shopping for cars to the specifics of makes and models. Now, the people in charge of CarSpace (the Community team) has just launched a new service to answer all your questions. Appropriately called Edmunds' Answers, it's a social question and answer system where any member can ask an automotive question. Members of the community, including Edmunds employees, can answer these questions. Points are awarded for providing answers, voting on helpful answers and daily participation. We’re already seeing experts emerge in categories such as maintenance & repair and vehicle makes such as Nissan.

So if you've ever had a specific question but were afraid to ask, this is exactly what you've been looking for. No criticism, just answers! Don't have a question today? Start out by voting on someone else's answer (you may learn something!) or even answering a question. Because everyone's an expert at something.

I tried it but I'm not sure how somepeople answer 1questionand get like 600 points! I feel good because I ranked #15 of 500. But the person ahead of me answered 3 questions and has 630 points. I answered 8 and got 625... I'm confused!!

autoboy16 - if you look at your 'My Answers Profile' > Points Summary you will see how your points breakdown. 500 for joining, 5 points per day for participating, points for voting on other answers (up/down) and if your answer is selected as the best answer by the person who asked the question or by other members - more points.

We will work on making the points system more prominent on the pages as we progress. You've given some great answers so far. I'll be sure and give you a few votes :-)

Sounds a little like what Yahoo! Answers does - only with not as many teenagers.
